The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed deep concern about comments from the Minister for Planning in Budget Estimates yesterday, apparently walking back the Government’s position on Development Assessment Panels.

“Development Assessment Panels are an essential tool to break the planning malaise in Tasmania’s Councils, and have been Liberal Government policy since being first announced in mid-2023”, TCCI Acting CEO Colleen Reardon said.

“DAPs were reaffirmed as Government policy in both the 2024, and the [2025 election\* campaigns.](https://tas.liberal.org.au/sites/default/files/2025%20100%20Day%20Plan.pdf)

> “We call on the Minister for Planning, Mr Vincent, to reaffirm the Government’s 2025 election commitment to deliver Development Assessment Pannels.”

ENDS.
