Clean Energy Tasmania welcomes the Tasmanian Government’s Strategic Benefit Payment Scheme, providing $200,000 per kilometre and annual CPI-indexed payments for eligible landholders hosting the North West Transmission Developments for Project Marinus.

Clean Energy Chairman, Ian Jones said this will enable the network upgrades needed to move more low-cost, renewable power across Tasmania and the NEM.

“It supports construction and long-term regional jobs associated with Marinus and associated generation and storage,” Mr Jones said.

“This keeps Tasmania on track to deliver cleaner, cheaper, more reliable energy.

“We commend Premier Rockliff, Minister Duigan, TasNetworks for working with TasFarmers on this long overdue outcome,” Mr Jones said.
