Michael Bailey OAM reappointed as TCCI CEO

The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the voice of business in Tasmania and is pleased to announce that Michael Bailey OAM has been reappointed as CEO for a further five years.

TCCI Chair, Wayne Davy, said that Michael had been an exceptional advocate for the business community for over a decade and it was an easy decision to reappoint him.

“Michael really listens closely to the business community and then transforms that into powerful, meaningful advocacy on behalf of our members,” Mr Davy said.

“Michael led the business community response during the COVID pandemic, he has put business at the forefront of the most recent state and federal election campaigns and he is leading the charge when it comes to tackling the cost of doing business in Tasmania and cutting through red tape that is holding the State back.

“He is currently working on tackling Tasmania’s low participation rate, supporting regional industries and building more generation in our energy grid to support continued business growth.

“Tasmania is facing some economic headwinds at the moment and we really need people with the experience and skills that Michael has to ensure we get the best outcomes for the business community and the State.

“Michael was first appointed CEO in 2013 and we look forward to working with him for many years to come.”
