The TCCI is the voice of business in Tasmania and has welcomed commitments from the Coalition and Labor backing in Marinus Link.

TCCI CEO, Michael Bailey, said Marinus Link was vital to unlock Tasmania’s renewable energy potential.

“Marinus Link will be the catalyst to unlock over $25 billion in renewable energy projects,” Mr Bailey said.

“Renewable energy investment in Tasmania will create thousands of jobs for years to come and will help support regional communities and drive economic growth around the State in the same way that hydro-industrialisation did in the 20th century.

“It will help Tasmania claim its rightful spot as a leader in renewable energy and an integral part of Australia’s transition away from fossil fuels.

“But it all starts with Marinus Link and it’s fantastic to see our national leaders understanding that opportunity and backing it in.”
